Chase Tafoya grew up in Merced, California. A kid who often found himself in trouble for paying more attention to his art than anything else, things never turned out as some might have warned. The stereotypical view that art and certain elements of urban street life contribute to a bad future, can easily be argued by him “Art gives those growing up an opportunity to strive for something greater than what is already so easily obtainable…considering so many art forms are connected or have been influenced from street life, it’s something that is positive and beautiful out of conditions that might not always be”.
